Assignment 1 - Print advert

My target audience is for teenagers to woman in their mid twenties. For those who like the floral scents which are girly and strong willed.

I chose a model who is in matching age with who I would like to purchase this perfume. so this would give the audience an idea of who the product is for. I gave my model flowers to match the theme and the scents this is how I represented the theme of Kai. I chose the colour pink as it is a stereotypical colour for females which helps match my target audience.

I think that this perfume would feature in woman teenage magazines or websites such as cosmopolitan as this is a site that girls frequently look at. As they are flicking through the magazine they will come across this colourfully pink perfume advertisement. My advert will eventually make it to the television adverts so it can become more public and recognised and become wanted all round and more famous.

Assignment 1 - Analysis

The colour black that was been used for the background connotes a sense of mystery and power, it also connotes male dominance by the way that he is holding the woman in the avert above. His deep blue eyes that are looking straight towards the camera show a sense of guilt yet calmness by his facial expression. The brand name "Guilty" relates to his facial expression. As for the woman her lips are red which connotes a sense of passion and her facial expression signifies that she may be seeking the man in the advert's attention. I feel the target audience are men who are of middle age, roughly the same age as the model in the advert, the age range being roughly 25-40. Even though it is a male fragrance it looks appealing towards women as they may find that the perfume is attractive and seductive. In the image the woman is wrapped around his upper body and her neck is leaning into his neck as if she is drawn to the smell of the perfume. As if the perfume is her weakness and she can't help herself. Both of the models aren't wearing any clothes which makes this more intimate and heated. The man is looking straight into the camera which gets our attention more than it would if they were not looking into the camera.  The brand name is quite mysterious which makes you want to know more about the perfume. The font is very sophisticated like the perfume bottle and the writing stands out. The connotation of the title and clothing make the perfume seems like a guilty pleasure. The lightning bolt on his chain signify danger it also relates the the greek god of Zeus to connote power. By the men purchasing this product it could lead them to believe that having this product would instantly make them more attractive towards women. The lighting gets brighter on his face and on hers which shows they are the main focus. His body type is what males aspire to so that is another from of inspirational help to ensure that this will be the case if you are to buy this perfume.

.

Beyonce is a very successful woman and has a lot of young to middle aged woman who aspire to be her and look up to her, this is a great demand enhancer making people more intrigued by this product. She is clearly centralised and is the main focus, there is a slight low angle used which adds a sense of dominance. The connotations of red include: heat, lust, pain, sexuality, love and empowerment. This is portrayed through her facial expressions which stands out clearly due to the lighting. The slogan "catch the fever" could imply that this perfume is contagious which is usually known to have negative impact although in this case it could possibly have a positive impact on those who surround you. The advert suggests a sexual and lustful mood, implying that buying this product would make you potentially act and feel this way. The way she is dressed might also have an impact on the viewers as it comes across as quite seductive and there NVC shows confidence so this would possibly intrigue the target audience. The fact that it is silk may also stand out as it is known as a rich and smooth material. I think that the target audience for woman who are of all ages. The fact that she is looking straight into the camera is almost intimidating yet it draws you in. The word in bold "Heat" is all in capital letters which makes it stand out more than it would if it were to be in lower case. Due to her lists of talents : singer/ song write, dancer, actress, record producer, entertainer, model, video director and choreographer she was voted one of the most influential celebrities and musician in the world. With all of this following behind her this will really inspire woman to think to buy this product, the fact that her face is on this advert is such a demand boost due to the amount of people who look up to her. This is an effective use of red as they have used it as the background colour, in her hair, as her clothing and on the bottle. They have also used some dark greys enforcing power and mystery which will attract the target audience in many ways.
